Ylva Handsdotter

Ylva has an interdisciplinary academic background in Behavioural Science and Computer Science from the University of Stockholm, and during her +20 years practice, she has worked in the intersection of the two fields with the motivation to understand what stimulates behavioural change, and to find efficient strategies and tools to support a positive change process.

She is the founder and Executive Director of XR Impact (www.xrimpact.com), a non-profit organization that leverages XR technologies (VR/AR/MR) to support sustainable social change, and a fellow of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on VR and AR. In Davos 2020 she premiered “Be Earth”, a VR-platform to inspire positive global action towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Research
Ylva’s research focus is on the affordances of immersive storytelling to stimulate prosocial behaviour; comparing the efficacy of an immersive vs. a non-immersive pro-environmental intervention.
