Professor Lizbeth Goodman appointed as Research Director for Futurelab

Professor Lizbeth Goodman appointed as Research Director for Futurelab, the UK’s most prestigious educational technology directorship.

Lizbeth remains the Director of SMARTlab at UEL and of all our sister sites internationally, and will divide her time in the UK between SMARTlab and Futurelab, focusing on joint opportunities for growth and integration of platforms and programmes.

Futurelab, chaired by Lord David Puttnam of Queensgate, is an award-winning charitable organisation that is passionate about transforming the way people learn with seven years of major results in the future schools and learning for the 21st century domains. Futurelab embraces the potential of digital and other technologies, and the development of innovative resources and practices to support new approaches to learning for the 21st century.

SMARTlab at UEL will remain an independent trandisciplinary institute, and will continue to operate both nationally and internationally on all existing projects and on a new suite of incubation and development projects as well. SMARTlab at UEL will now work even more closely with UEL’s school of Computing, Interactive Technology and Engineering (CITE) and will work this year on validation and delivery of a new joint MA/MSC and a set of projects for the European Commission!
