Dr Mick Donegan – Assistive technologies: Accessibility and e-health

Dr Mick Donegan, our Deputy Academic Director, at SMARTlab, will be participating on the panel about “Assistive technologies: Accessibility and e-health” during ITU TELECOM WORLD 2009 conference and forum in Geneva, Switzerland (08 Oct 2009).

The panel shall consider that, although innovative technologies have provided substantial benefits to modern society, there are still a large number of people who cannot enjoy them due to the lack of accessibility features.

The objectives of the panel are to discuss the current trends, status and future evolution of accessibility and ICTs, assistive technologies and e-health. Within an accessibility framework, assistive technologies and e-health are playing an increasing important role as they are designed to help any person with any ability, to achieve greater independence at all levels, at home, at work and in the normal life.
