Dr Mick Donegan presents at the ‘Create…Connect’ BBC Children’s Festival

Dr Mick Donegan- SMARTlab’s Principal Research Fellow in Multimodal Interfaces, and the head of the research group on Interfaces for Assistive Technology and Creativity at the SMARTlab- was invited to give a presentation at the ‘Create…Connect’ BBC Children’s Festival in April ’09.

The session was used to highlight the issues involved in making technology more accessible to children.  During the presentation he also emphasised the rapidly growing body of evidence relating to the benefits of assistive technology for games and leisure, including enhanced self-esteem, motivation and socialisation.
