Research Group Leader: Curatorial Practices and Methodologies

RyyA is a faculty member of SMARTlab, having completed her practice-led PhD in Art Theory from Falmouth College of Art in 2001, on Embodied Methodologies. RyyA is also the Curatorial Director for Kestle Barton, a contemporary arts venue situated on 50 acres of farm and woodland near The Lizard, in Cornwall, UK. This newly renovated farm aims to be a self-sustaining venture that integrates arts, conservation and the farming history of the site into an inclusive model of community and artistic engagement. All of the programming aims to reflect the history and ethos of Kestle Barton as a whole, specifically in relation to place and land. The intention is to contribute to a contemporary discourse of ideas and images related to life and art from a rural location.
